To put your runs on Runometer, you must first find your runs. Finding your runs can take some work and is different for each type of computer. We've written some instructions to help you and hope to provider helper tools in the future.
You will only need to do this the first time you want to upload your run data.

We've written a helper to automatically locate your run files. If you'd rather do it your self, check out Find run files manually.
Download RunFinder
(550 KB)
An alias, "Run Folder on Runner's Nano" will be placed on your desktop. The alias points to the run data on your iPod™. Run file names look like:
2007-02-02 12;25;30.xml
Now that you have the alias, you shouldn't need RunFinder again. Feel free to move the Run Folder alias icon anywhere on your harddrive. If you lose the alias, you can use RunFinder again to make a new one.
The synched folder contains runs that you have already sent to the Nike+ website. The latest folder contains new runs that you've not sent yet.
You can copy the contents of the latest and synched folders to whatever spot suits you for your own personal backups as well as uploading to Runometer. We recommend a making a "runs" folder in your home folder to backup your runs.
Don't move or delete these files if you're using the Nike+ site as well, only make copies.
When uploading files to the Runometer.com site, you can use the "Run Folder" alias whenever you have your iPod™ plugged in.
This application is just being tested for the first time, so please send feedback if you have problems!

/Volumes/<Your iPod name>/iPod_Control/Device/Trainer/Workouts/Empeds/<sensor id>/
(your iPod™ name and sensor id will vary).
In this directory is all your workout data; specifically two folders: latest and synched. latest contains your new runs; once you've sent them to Nike, they're shifted over to synched. Each file is named for the date and time it was run, followed by a .xml extension.

| You need to change your file manager settings to make the iPodControl directory on your iPod™ visible. in order to do this, you need to change the way windows displays directories; this is located under "Tools"->"Folder Options" on your Explorer window in Windows XP. | .
|
|
|
This will bring up the "Folder Options" Window. Select the "View" tab, so that you see something like this: . Simply switch the radio button for "Do not show hidden files and folders" to "Show hidden files and folders."
Clicking "Apply to All Folders" after completing this step will enable viewing of the entire contents of your iPod, including from the "Browse" dialog of your web browser. |
|
|
Now, your view of your iPod's top directory should look something like this: Click through folders until you reach iPod_Control\Device\Trainer\Workouts\Empeds\ - in this folder, there will be another folder whose name is a long list of letters and numbers, like 4H623V5KVZS. You can save yourself time with future uploads by simply creating a shortcut to this folder in your home directory, or on your desktop. |
.
|
|
|
Under the folder with the long name, you'll find two final folders: latest and synched. Every file you've already sent to Nike is in synched, and all the new ones are still in latest. They're named after the date on which they were run. You can copy them from here to someplace easy to remember them, but I wouldn't recommend deleting or moving them! Go to this new location from the "Browse" button on the Add Runs page, and pick a file!
